  • Whether your are refreshing your space with new cabinets or doing a full kitchen or bathroom renovation the process is typically disruptive to the flow of your home. Here are a few tips to get you started on the right foot for your project:

    1. Plan ahead. This is the most important step, as it will save you time and money in the long run. Take some time to think about your needs and wants, and create a detailed plan for your renovation. This should include a budget, timeline, and material list.

    • Consider your lifestyle. How do you use your kitchen? What are your must-haves? Think about your cooking and entertaining habits when designing your new kitchen.

    • Create a functional layout. The layout of your kitchen is important for both function and flow. Make sure that there is enough counter space and that the appliances are in convenient locations.

    • Choose the right materials. Kitchen materials should be durable and easy to clean. Consider your budget and lifestyle when making your selections.

    • Don't forget the details. The details can make a big difference in the overall look and feel of your kitchen. Think about the lighting, hardware, and backsplash.

    2. Set a budget and stick to it. Kitchen renovations can be expensive, so it's important to set a budget and stick to it as closely as possible. Be sure to factor in the cost of materials, labor, and any unexpected expenses.

    3. Hire & Communicate with your trusted contractor. If you're not comfortable doing the renovation yourself, be sure to hire a qualified contractor. Once you've hired a contractor, it's important to communicate with them regularly throughout the renovation. This will help ensure that everything is on track and that you're happy with the results.

Be patient. Home renovations can take longer than expected, so it's important to be patient. Be prepared for unexpected delays and don't get discouraged.
